Dear friends, today I tried to publish from the JetPack app that WordPress is pushing, and the post disappeared from both the phone and the laptop. If I can’t find it, I will post something else after dinner.

Dear friends, today I tried to publish from the JetPack app that WordPress is pushing, and the post disappeared from both the phone and the laptop. If I can’t find it, I will post something else after dinner.

Don’t you hate when that happens?? One quirky thing I noticed when posting on mobile from Jetpack relates to the date assigned to a post. If I created a draft of a post in Jetpack on Tuesday but did not click “Publish” until today, Friday, the post seems to disappear. However, Jetpack assigned it Tuesday’s date, not Friday’s date. So the post will appear in the Reader as though it was published on Tuesday. People will see it if they scroll through the Reader back in time to the blogs published on Tuesday. I have learned, therefore, to never create any draft posts in Jetpack on mobile and to always create my drafts from the actual WordPress program on my laptop. YMMV as the kids say these days. Good luck. And keep your always eclectic posts coming. I enjoy them very much.
Thank you for that vote of confidence, and the tip! Not to mention YMMV, which I Googled to learn, “Your mileage may vary”! I only used the app because my car broke down in Providence RI and I didn’t have my laptop! Ugh.
Glad it helped. It was a big lessons learned the moment it happened to me! What an awful design feature.
I just looked at the post you mentioned not appearing. Was it the one titled Reading with the gorgeous Renoir painting of the children? The date on that post is September 15.
Babsje, thank you so much. I hadn’t noticed that. No wonder I couldn’t find it!

A friend pointed out it had a September date on it. Next time I will doublecheck the date if I use the app.
Oh no!
Turned out to be a simple fix. But I don’t like that app.
Thank goodness
HOW FRUSTRATING!!!
Fortunately, my online pals pointed to a simple glitch.
OMG, so sorry to hear that! Have you looked in Drafts? Sorry, that is so frustrating!
All is well now. The date reflected the first time I worked on the thing — in September. I don’t like this app.
I don’t either. It makes it difficult to be responsive because people’s photos and website names aren’t clickable.
