Not an appropriate quote, but I can’t keep it from coming into my head:
“Like the leaves of the forest when Summer is green,
“That host with their banners at sunset were seen:
“Like the leaves of the forest when Autumn hath blown,
“That host on the morrow lay withered and strown.”

Compared with the other cities, the Occupy in Boston was relatively incident free, the mayor was relatively patient, and the chief of police relatively sympathetic. I give the various actors credit. Also, the Globe did a fine job of engaging and trying to understand, and I hope it will continue to do so.

“The Destruction of Sennacherib” is an 1815 poem by Byron. It is on a biblical theme and doesn’t fit the topic of Occupy, except for that one verse.

I have such complicated and mixed feelings about the occupy movement. I’m glad you documented the presence of the tents and signs, before they were cleared away.

My colleague saw them all as spoiled white kids, but that is not what I saw. I saw different races and homeless people among them. And they definitely were not all kids.
